Ask Linda #585-Play after hole conceded

Hi Linda,
What happens if a player in match play can't find his tee shot ball?
After a little search he concedes the hole. Then he drops a ball approximately 150 meters out from the green.
Is this practice or continuance of hole after a hole has been decided?
What is the penalty ??
Thanks,
Lou

Dear Lou,

There is no penalty for continuing play of a hole that a player has already conceded to his opponent. Such additional strokes are not considered to be practice strokes [Rule 7-2; Decisions 7-2/1.5 and  7-2/1.7].
